Anna Kovalevska, pianist
Pianist Anna Kovalevska is a winner of numerous national and international competitions throughout Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Italy, France and the United States. She has made solo appearances with the Yalta Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra “Gileya,” Kherson National University Symphony Orchestra and Duquesne University Symphony Orchestra.
In her native Ukraine, Anna completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano and Arts at the National University in Kiev. Also, she was awarded a grant from the President’s fund “Ukraine” for her musical talents. While pursuing her studies, she served as a piano faculty member and staff pianist at the Kiev Music School.
Anna moved to United States in 2010 to pursue her Artist Diploma in Piano Performance at Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music in Pittsburgh. While there, she served as a staff collaborative pianist at Duquesne University and as an organist in Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. She was also an active opera pianist and piano teacher.
She moved to Chicago in the fall of 2017 and currently serves as a collaborative pianist at DePaul University, as an organist at First Congregational Church (Des Plaines, IL) and on the piano faculty at Merit School of Music.
